Naming the Online Store

By Jerry Seiler

Cir. 2011

We entered the business as an online store in 2011. Finding the name of the company was probably the hardest part. We decided to find an available domain name as the prerequisite of the online store / web site / domain name. It took lots of trial and error attempts as most everything we thought of was already taken.
We made an attempt to find Halloween / scary / haunted words that we could use to combine to create a unique name. Here are some of the words we came up with. Please feel free to use these to build a website domain name for your own endeavors.

Our First Popup

By Jerry Seiler

We are new to the Halloween business. Being enthusiasts, we have been celebrating Halloween in several ways since 1999. For several years we had Halloween parties with some sort of mini haunt. The haunts were usually in the garage or covered by canopy tents. Eventually the garage portion became main stream. The neighborhood kids always counted on the garage haunt, year after year.

Sadly, we disappointed them this last year by not doing a haunt. We fell into a situation where we had the opportunity to buy the remaining Halloween inventory from an independent store (not Spirit, City, or Express). We jumped at the opportunity and late in the season opened a small store.

We learned plenty, more than we bargain for. I documented the journey in a series of journal entries that I keep for myself. I will post them in the blog.
